Tasty Tuesday: Snickerdoodles

Hello? Hello? It’s been over 2 months since I last posted 🙁 I’ve probably lost all of my readers…all one of them.  Hi sister!!  Well it’s very fitting that today’s recipe is my sister’s favorite cookie.  In fact BOTH my sisters have told me that their favorite cookie is the snickerdoodle.  Cinnamon and sugar and everything nice right?

Ian likes helping me make cookies, but he has no patience in waiting for the cookies to finish baking and cooling down.  You and me both kid.  This recipe is for classic snickerdoodle cookies.  Enjoy 🙂

Classic Snickerdoodle Cookies

    1 hr 35 mins

Ingredients

Cookies

1 cup butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

2/3 cup brown sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp. vanilla

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp. cream of tartar

3 cups flour

Topping

1/2 cup granulated sugar

4 tsp. ground cinnamon

Directions

Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

In a bowl of your stand mixer, cream softened butter and sugars together. ( I use salted butter so I don't have to measure out salt)

Add eggs and vanilla. Beat until smooth.

Add baking soda and cream of tartar

Add flour 1/2 - 1 cup at a time, stirring in between additions so you don't pouf flour everywhere!

Chill dough in refrigerator for at least 30 - 60 minutes.

Combine topping sugar and cinnamon together in a small bowl.

Using a cookie scoop, scoop out balls of dough and roll in the cinnamon/sugar mix.

Place on un-greased cookie sheet. ( I also use silicone baking mats for easy clean up)

Bake for 12-14 minutes depending on your oven.

Do NOT over bake.
