I hope you and your kids have recovered from any candy comas you may have endured over the Halloween weekend. Here’s how how we decided on what we should be for Halloween:
Me: What do you want to be for Halloween?
Ian: Fireman
Me: How about Jensen?
Ian: Um…Policeman
Me: How about me?
Ian: Princess
Me: And daddy?
Ian: a Froggy
Well…Ian was indeed a fireman for Halloween, but I thought it would be cuter if Jensen was a dalmatian, Mr. A wanted him to be a dinosaur because he saw a picture of one where it looks like the kid is riding the dinosaur…Luckily Target was having a buy one get one free on kids costumes, so I bought both. Technically Jensen is Marshall from Paw Patrol. Ugh the cuteness kills me!
Our Halloween festivities started on the 29th. The kids’ pumpkin party was moved to that day because it was going to rain all day Friday (which it did). The kids had a great time and the weather was great. I made some “monster” cookies. Mr. A thought they looked creepy so he didn’t try one. I gave one to Jensen and he just kept pointing at the eyes and saying “eyes”…Ian tried a bite and decided he only likes cookies with chocolate in them 😐 I tried it and thought they tasted like cake (I’ll post the recipe and pictures soon so you can try them yourself)
On Friday night Mr. A and I had an adult party to go to. Can you guess who we are?? (Not Princess or a Froggy)
Mr. A decided it would be very fitting to be Marty McFly from Back to the Future since this year is the year they go to in the second movie. So I went as Doc Brown 🙂 We had lots of fun and we even won the “Best In Show” award. haha
During the day on Halloween the kids had a birthday party and on Halloween night we went to a trunk or treat at my friend’s church. In addition to the trick or treating they had bounce houses, face painting and some arts and crafts for the kiddos. Then we went home and watched Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. The kids slept until 7am the next morning, but since the time changed they really slept till 8am. All in all a nice fun filled Halloween weekend and we got to use the kids’ costumes a lot.
How was your Halloween?
